Overview
Meridian gives small businesses a single view of cash, invoices and runway — but growth had buried that promise under five years of feature flags. Screens disagreed with each other, numbers needed a manual to decode, and support tickets kept asking the same question: where is my money?
We rebuilt the experience around one idea: every figure on screen should answer its question in under five seconds. That principle drove the information architecture, the visual system and the rollout plan.
Approach
We started with two weeks inside Meridian’s support queue and analytics, then prototyped the three highest-traffic flows — balances, invoicing and cash-flow forecast — and tested them with eleven real customers before touching the visual layer.
- Unified web and mobile around one navigation model and one number format.
- Readable-first data visualisation: sparklines, plain-language deltas, no chart junk.
- A 60-component design system with tokens for theming white-label partners.
- Empty, loading and error states designed as first-class screens.
- Handoff with motion specs, accessibility annotations and usage docs.
